This work approaches the functionality of a chair as a medium for the translation of wood joinery into sculpture. Instead of concealing structure, it turns the connection between parts into the main visual and conceptual element: a relational system in which form is determined through the interaction between single components.
The object is built from reclaimed CLT offcuts and retains traces of its previous context, allowing material history and construction logic to remain visible. What emerges is not a seamless object, but a carved and assembled form in which joinery becomes a spatial event — somewhere between furniture, sculpture and structural study.
Within the piece an unresolved contradiction remains, as it’s appearance suggests the deformation of the material, whereas the making process follows a subtractive logic.
