The work is based on the interpretation of live edges, the utmost layer of growth right beneath the bark. The way these edges are growing is largely influenced by events such as weather, climate, infection through fungi and bacteria or other impacts.
By confronting two live edges, the gap between them becomes a visual frontier in which the dynamic flowing lines converge.
The title "Convergence" referes to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITC), a meteorological phenomenon formed near the equator. Within the ITC, trade winds from the northern and southern hemisphere collide, consequently leading to extreme weather events like heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
"Convergence" tells a poetic story about the complex relationship between cosmological events and the individual microcosmos of each tree.
